| Abstract | Numerical techniques to simulate tsunami waves are described, and numerical results are introduced. A finite difference method is applied to shallow water equations to analize the propagation of tsunami wave. Numerical results to simulate a tsunami wave generated on the Nankai Trough are introduced. |

| Abstract | 退院後の生活に目を向けた適切な退院指導がなされることは、高齢患者が安心して在宅療養を送る上で、重要な意味を持つ。そこで病院から在宅療養に移行した70歳以上の高齢者の抱える問題を4回に渡って1年間調査し、これまでに退院時、3ヵ月後、6ヵ月後の調査結果を報告した。本稿では1年を通じて回答のあった53名について健康と生活上の問題の変化を分析し、考察した。在宅療養に移行した高齢者の健康状態と生活上の問題は、ほぼ一致して退院後6ヵ月から1年後までに変化を認め、特に日常生活上の問題は著しく増加した。その原因として病状の悪化との関連が考えられた。また、高齢者の問題についての意識は、研究者の専門的な問題意識に比べて低かった。従って入院中に退院後の生活を予測することには限界があり、今後は退院指導の充実と伴に在宅サービスとの連携が重要であることを認めた。 |

| Abstract | 近年の急速な高齢化社会にともない複数の疾病や種々の障害をもちながら自宅で療養する高齢者が増加してきている。このような状況でいったん入院療養した高齢者が自宅へ帰り生活をしていくにはかなりの困難が予測される。高齢者が退院し自宅での生活にスムーズに適応できるか否かは看護婦の退院指導の良否に関わってくる。そこで指導側の看護婦の指導計画や指導方法、内容について調査すると共に受け手の患者の指導希望内容との比較を行い有効な退院指導のあり方を検討した。患者の心配事や援助や相談の希望内容と看護婦の重要とする指導内容はほぼ同様の内容であった。その内容は日常生活に関すること、病気や健康に関することが多かった。看護婦の退院指導の計画でカンファレンスをしている看護婦はしていない看護婦に比べ指導内容の経済的なこと、趣味や生きがいに関する事、生活環境、家族の協力に関することを重要とすると回答したものが有意に多かった。 |

| Abstract | 筆者らは，林が作成した看護援助モデルに基づき，腎移植者への効果的な看護介入についての検討を行っている。その一環として，今回，腎移植を受けた119名を対象に，QOLや移植前と現在の人生に対する受けとめ方について調査した。人生に対する受けとめ方の移植前後の変化を分析したところ，ほぼ全数に近い腎移植者が移植前と比べよい状態であると受けとめていたが，3事例において受けとめ方が低下していた。そこで，この3事例に着目し，これらの事例が日常生活の中で不満を抱いている事柄を分析した。その結果，移植後に人生に対する受けとめ方が低下した3事例が抱く不満は，1．腎臓・健康などの身体状況，2．家庭環境，3．医療・友人・他人からのサポート，4．家族や社会の中で役割を果たす能力の4カテゴリーに分類された。移植後の人生の受けとめ方の否定的変化には，上記の4カテゴリーに対して抱く不満が影響していることが推測され，腎移植後の看護介入を検討する上で考慮すべき点であることが明らかになった。 |

| Abstract | The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship among the components of quality of life of kidney transplant recipients by using a causal model. The subjects were 329 recipients who had regular checks-up following transplantation in seven general hospitals in Tokyo, Gunma, Aichi, Okayama, and Hiroshima, and agreed to participate in this study. Ferrans and Powers's Quality of Life - Index Kidney Transplant version was used to measure perceived quality of life. The self-administered questionnaires were handed over to the subjects, who completed the instrument on the spot. After that, the answers were collected immediately. The factor analysis and the covariance structure analysis were used to make clear the structural relationship among the components of quality of life. The results of data analysis were as follows : (1) Five components of quality of life were extracted ; socio-economic functioning, family ties, emotional support, physical health, and peace & happiness. (2) The scores in the family ties dimension and the physical health dimension were higher than in the others, and the score in the socio-economic functioning dimension was the lowest. (3) The physical health showed the starting point in a causal model. (4) The physical health influenced the family ties and the socio-economic functioning. (5) The socio-economic functioning strongly influenced the peace & happiness and the emotional support. (6) The family ties influenced the socio-economic functioning, the emotional support, and the peace & happiness. Therefore, it was conceivable that it was particularly important to make approaches for the physical health, the family ties, and the socio-economic functioning dimensions to improve quality of life. |

| Abstract | 術前訪問のストレス状態を軽減するための一手段として，手術室の看護者により術前訪問が行われている。患者自身のストレスの状態とその対処法が異なっていることは従来の研究より明らかであるが，このような個々の術前患者の対処状況に応じた術前訪問については，充分に行えていないのが現状である。患者のストレス状態は患者背景と関係しており，さらにはその対処行為をパターン化できるものと考え，この対処行為のパターンと，背景因子との関わりを明らかにし，それらを考慮した術前訪問のあり方を考えることを目的として本研究を行った。対象は1週間以内に手術予定の患者20名とした。データは面接による半構成的な質問に対する対象者の自由な回答を記録して収集した。質問内容は，1．対象者の背景要因としての「経験」「自己認知」「環境要因」2．対象者の心理状態・ストレス認知・対処について，「病気を発見した時」、「入院の必要性の説明を受けた時」「手術の必要性の説明を受けた時」「現在」の4つの時点についての心理状態，ストレスの認知，対処法について回想法によるものとした。対象者は男性11名，女性9名で，平均年齢は57.7±15.9歳であった。各事例における4時点での対処行為をパターン化したところ，A ：「積極的対処」B：「回避」C：「おまかせ」D：「積極的対処」→「おまかせ」E：「回避」→「積極的対処」F：「回避」→「積極的対処」→「おまかせ」G：「回避」→「おまかせ」の7パターンに分類された。患者背景要因と対処法の関係については，次の2点が明らかとなった。1）ストレス対処に「問題状況の再認知」または「おまかせ」を用いていた患者は，癌告知を受けており，ストレス状態の軽減傾向が特徴的であった。それに対して，「回避」を主に用いていた患者は，未告知事例や疾患について曖昧な解釈の事例が集中しており，ストレス状態が特徴的であった。2）性格を「神経質」「辛抱強い」と自己評価した患者の対処行為として，「積極的対処」が共通して用いられていた。 |

| Abstract | We analyze some mathematical problems that arise in studies of phenomena observed in the cardiac action. We illustrate a method to characterize the response of a nonlinear oscillator to an external forcing, and introduce some numerical results. We also introduce some results of numerical computation in an example of a coupled system of an excitable system and a nonlinear oscillator. |

| Abstract | We treat the problem of water pollution by the method of a mathematical model. We illustrate the method of analysis with Kojima Lake. We analyze in-flow and out-flow of the lake, compute numerical solutions of the governing equations of the water flow and the pollutant. The simulation leads to the conclusion concerning the figure of Kojima Lake. |

| Abstract | The Measuring instrument of carbon dioxide concentration in seawater (pCO(2)) is developed. The instrument consists of an equilibrator, a non-dispersive infrared gas analyzer (NDIR), a carrier gas generator and a processing signal generator. The equilibrator has a cross section of 3 c㎡ and is 15 cm tall. The principle of pCO(2) measurement is based on the equilibration of a carrier gas phase with a seawater sample and subsequent determination of the carbon dioxide concentration in the carrier gas. The carrier gas circuit of the NDIR is opened to the atmosphere to maintain the carrier gas line at a barometric pressure. The present instrument can measure pCO(2) within the measuring error of about 2 ppm with sample water of about 180ml every 20 min. |

| Abstract | We study a system obtained by coupling a nonlinear oscillator and a stationary system. We analyze the dynamics in a singular limit and show that asymptotically orbitally stable periodic solutions can exist. We also show how a slow oscillation can arise in the coupled system. |
