| 抄録 | The movement of transport policy in United Kingdom and its problems are surveyed in this paper. First, the general trend in transport, road program, and technologies to improve road safety and environment are introduced. Then, concepts to decrease traffic congestion are outlined, followed parking control strategies. Recent issues such as road pricing scheme in London, M25 widening plan, also deregulation and privatisation of transport and their problems are examined. |

| 抄録 | Plastics are quite important materials for not only industrial usages but also our daily life. Many plastics are difficult to reuse because they are susceptible to UV, hydrolysis and so on leading to the reduction of molecular weight. Among them, poly (butylenes terephthalate) (PBT) is a valuable materials prepared by polycondensation reaction, and PBT has the same limitation to reuse. Hence, efficient chain extension reaction for recovered PBT has been needed to improve the properties damaged by chain scission. In this study, new chain extension reaction had been examined by using crystallization as pre-treatment. Isothermal crystallization at 161℃ concentrated the chain end-groups on the surface of the crystals, and chain extension reaction at 210℃, which was lower than the melting temperature of PBT, enhanced the molecular weight significantly compared with the reaction over the melting temperature. It concluded that the pre-treatment of crystallization was favorable for the efficient chain extension reaction and this result provided the new technology for the effective reuse of the plastics. |

| 抄録 | The study aims to explain the main features of food production in Tottori prefecture focusing on agricultural enterprises. First, the number of farmers and farm households, the area of cultivated land, and their spatial distribution were analyzed. Then, the production trend on rice, livestock, vegetables such as watermelon and leek, and pears was surveyed. Furthermore, by overlooking the features of each enterprise, food production as a regional agriculture was briefly examined. Farm management in Tottori pref. has long been a small scale selfsufficiency property, but has gradually decayed or specialized. Because agricultural workers are continuously decreasing and aging, farming in Tottori pref. should pay attention to the demand of world food while publicizing a process on food production and farmmanagement carefully. |

| 抄録 | The purpose of this study is to make some body models with viscoelastic model, to simulate the heel impact and to obtain the ground reaction force. In this paper, we build up body models of linear viscoelastic elements and mass elements to simulate heel impact. Here we consider the systems of linear differential equations numerically for the preparation of mathematical analysis in future. The simplest model with two mass elements is hardly able to simulate the heel impact if the rate of mass of elements is realistic. The models with more elements are suitable to simulate for actual rate of weight of body segments. The model with three mass elements makes it possible to guess the force to each body segment. |

| 抄録 | This paper is a research report concerning the hydrodynamic simulation and the structural simulation by a particle approach. The proposal particle method model is introduced in this report, and the calculation example by the calculation code which uses the proposal model is shown. The high possibility of the particle method is shown by calculation examples which is difficult to solve by FDM and FEM. It is shown by caliculation examples of both the hydrodynamic and the structure analysis problems that the proposal model enables us to treat the fluid and the structure in a unified way. |

| 抄録 | It is necessary to consider a stochastic variability in modeling malaria epidemic behavior since the malaria infection cycle essentially depends on stochastic elements. For this requirement, we need to construct an appropriate statistical model from available data in advance. In this report, we provide some statistical models for the analysis of malaria epidemic behavior at Ishigaki Island. These models can be used for recurrence of past malaria epidemic and prediction of future malaria epidemic at Ishigaki Island. |
