| Abstract | 本論は，ウェンガーの学位論文である「透明性」を分析することによって状況学習理論の両義的および動的特質を解明することを目指す。「透明性」は，ウェンガーによるエスノグラフィックな調査に基づいており，アリンスという保険会社の請求処理係の実践に焦点を当てている。そこで用いられる調整シートという人工物＝表象は，給付金計算の業務をより容易にする一方で，電話対応業務を難しくしていた。ウェンガーは，人工物＝表象が可視性と不可視性を同時にもたらし，両者が両義的な関係にあることを指摘する。人工物＝表象のもたらす可視性を利用しつつ，不可視性を克服するためには，実践共同体の周辺性において様々な参加形態を展開する成員による意味の交渉が重要となる。可視性と不可視性のジレンマゆえに，意味の交渉は駆動され，実践共同体を変化と安定の双方に開いていく。 |
