Abstract
With the increase of the complexity of human society because of the globalization and the advancement of each scientific field, innovations by effective collaborations of experts in various fields become necessary to solve problems in human society and to increase the findings of each field. From the backgrounds, the interdisciplinary science b ecomes popular in recent y ears. This article p resents the approach of interdisciplinary science and its importance to the sustainable development of human society. As an example of studies by interdisciplinary science, this article introduces a virtual reality based mirror visual feedback therapy system that the author has been developed in collaboration with medical doctors, professors in engineering field and students of the author’s laboratory in Okayama University.
