小学生の読書活動と学校生活スキルとの関連

児童生徒の問題行動の増加の背景には，日常生活に求められるスキルの低下が一つの原因と考えられている。本研究では，学校生活スキルに着目し，読書活動や読み聞かせを受ける体験との関連について検討することを通して，学校において読書活動の時間を設ける必要性について検討した。また，学校図書への知見を得るため，児童の興味・関心のあるジャンルについても検討した。小学校5，6 年生728 名を対象に，質問紙調査を行った。その結果，いずれの学校生活スキルにおいても，読書活動体験，読み聞かせを受けた体験が多い子どもの方がいずれの体験も少ない子どもに比べて学校生活スキルが高い傾向が示された。そして，現在の子どもの興味・関心のある本のジャンルは，絵本，児童文学，マンガ，小説が多かった。これらのことから，小学校においては，読書活動を継続するとともに，子ども達の関心のあるジャンルをふまえた学校図書館づくりが大切だと考えられた。

The increase in problem behaviors among school children is related to the decline in their life skills. The purpose of this study is to clarify the association among elementary school children between their experience of reading books and listening to stories and their life skills at school. Through this study, we also analyze the necessity of reading activities in school. 728 5th and 6th graders conducted self-reporting questionnaires. The results show that the students who had more experience of reading books or of listening to stories show better life skills at school compared to students who had less experience of reading books and listening to stories. The students showed an interest in genres such as picture books, children’ s books, manga, and novels for children, It may be important to continue reading activities in school. It is also important to arrange a school library from the perspective of which ge nres childre n are inter ested in.
