| Abstract | We report the synthesis of sterically unhindered boron-doped π-conjugated polymers via polymerization of organo-dilithium reagents with boron trichloride. The resulting polymer exhibits Lewis acidity and catalyzes the transesterification of methyl benzoate. This performance is attributed to the electron-accepting ability, and thermally labile Lewis acid–base interactions, facilitating catalytic turnover.
