| 抄録 | We investigated the work productivity levels of employed cancer survivors and non-cancer-survivor workers by conducting a cross-sectional study in Japan between February and March 2019, using an online survey. A total of 561 employed individuals aged 20-64 years were analyzed. Work productivity was assessed using the Work Productivity and Activity Impairment-General Health questionnaire which evaluates absenteeism, presenteeism, and overall work productivity loss. The questionnaire responses demonstrated that the cancer survivors within 1 year of diagnosis had significantly higher absenteeism compared to the non-cancer workers (p=0.048). Although presenteeism and overall work productivity loss were also higher in the non-cancer-survivor group, the differences were not significant. Cancer survivors within 1 year of diagnosis exhibited higher absenteeism, but their work productivity appeared to recover to levels comparable to those of the non-cancer workers over time. These findings may contribute to workplace policies supporting cancer survivors’ return to work. |

| 抄録 | The aim of our study was to determine whether the immunohistochemical expression of placental vitamin D receptors is altered in pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia. Vitamin D receptor expression was immunohistochemically analysed in the placentas of three groups: a control group, and early- and late-onset preeclampsia groups. Total immunohistochemical intensity staining of placentas showed that the control group had a median vitamin D receptor (VDR) expression significantly higher than the placentas of mothers with early- and late-onset preeclampsia. There was no difference among the three groups in a semiquantitative analysis of VDR staining of the stroma only. Vitamin D receptors showed lower median expression in preeclampsia-affected pregnancies, especially early-onset preeclampsia. Therefore, Vitamin D receptor expression may be an important marker for normal placentation and preeclampsia onset. |

| 抄録 | The forced swim test (FST) induces immobility in mice. Low-dose (high-dose-rate) X-irradiation inhibits FSTinduced immobility in mice due to its antioxidative function. We evaluated the effects of low-dose γ-irradiation at a low-dose-rate on the FST-induced depletion of antioxidants in mouse organs. Mice received whole-body low-dose-rate (0.6 or 3.0 mGy/h) of low-dose γ-irradiation for 1 week, followed by daily FSTs (5 days). The immobility rate on day 2 compared to day 1 was significantly lower in the 3.0 mGy/h irradiated mice than in sham irradiated mice. The FST significantly decreased the catalase (CAT) activity and total glutathione (t-GSH) content in the brain and kidney, respectively. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and t-GSH content in the liver of the 3.0 mGy/h irradiated mice were significantly lower than those of the non-FST-treated mice. The CAT activity in the lungs of mice exposed to 3.0 mGy/h γ-irradiation was higher than that of non-FST treated mice and mice treated with FST. However, no significant differences were observed in the levels of these antioxidant markers between the sham and irradiated groups except for the CAT activity in lungs. These findings suggest that the effects of low-dose-rate and low-dose γ-irradiation on FST are highly organ-dependent. |

| 抄録 | Second allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) is a potentially curative therapy for patients who relapse after first allo-SCT. Human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-haploidentical related donors provide the broad opportunity to conduct second SCT at the appropriate time, but the efficacy of second SCT from haploidentical donors after relapse has not been established. We retrospectively analyzed the records of 33 patients who underwent second SCT. Twenty patients underwent haplo-SCT with low-dose antithymocyte globulin (ATG), and the other 13 patients underwent conventional- SCTs, including HLA-matched related peripheral blood, unrelated bone marrow or cord blood. Three years after the second SCT, the overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of all patients were 32.5% and 23.9%. Multivariate analyses indicated that non-complete response at second SCT, less than 1-year interval to relapse after first- SCT, and total score ≥ 3 on the hematopoietic cell transplantation-specific comorbidity index were significantly associated with a lower PFS rate. The haplo- and conventional- SCT groups showed equivalent results regarding OS, PFS, cumulative incidences of relapse, non-relapse mortality and graft-versus-host disease. The neutropenic period after transplantation was significantly shorter in haplo- SCT than conventional- SCT (10.5 days vs. 16 days, p=0.001). Our analysis revealed that haplo-SCT could be an alternative therapeutic option for relapsed patients after first SCT. |
