A fecal examination for each of 210 residents of Manabe island was performed to clarify the status of parasitic infection by direct smear in 1981. The results were as follows; 1. Helminths found included Ascaris lumbricoides (2 cases, 0.95%), Trichuris trichiura (3 cases, 1.43%), and Heterophyes heterophyes (11 cases, 5.24%). 2. The average infection rate was 7.62% for the whole area. 3. Heterophyiasis showed a tendency to increase.
