Abstract
The 2-nitroso-(N-propyl-N-sulfopropylamino)phenol(Nitroso-PSAP), one of the watersoluble derivatives of nitrosoaminophenol, is a very sensitive reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of Fe(Ⅱ). Using Nitroso-PSAP reagent, the author investigated the conditions for determining Fe(Ⅱ) quantitatively and selectively the system of Fe(Ⅱ)-induced lipid peroxidation, and obtained the following results. 1) Fe(Ⅱ) could be measured quantitatively without reductant. The Fe(Ⅱ) complex had a molar absorptivity of 4.5×10(4)dm(3) mol(-1) cm(-1) at 756 nm. 2) Fe(Ⅱ) could be measured quantitatively in the TCA solution removed from the reaction medium for lipid peroxidation. The Fe(Ⅱ) complex had a molar absorptivity of 3.14×10(4)dm(3) mol(-1) at 756nm. 3) Fe(Ⅱ) could be measured quantitatively and selectivily under conditions involving a mixture of Fe(Ⅱ).
