We solved an inverse problem of the initial value problem, which consists of an exogenous depolymerization model and the initial weight distribution, in order to determine an oxidation rate, for which the solution of the initial value problem also satisfies the final condition. Given the oxidation rate, we simulated the transition of the weight distribution solving the initial value problem. We interpret the result that reflects a physical significance of the molecular weight on the oxidation rate, and reach a conclusion concerning the role of the membrane transport in
exogenous depolymerization processes. No potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 1316ENSatoruKasenoToshiroMiyaharaRemoval of chlorinated compound from an aqueous solution has been studied using solvent sublation. Solvent sublation is one among the several adsorptive bubble separation techniques wherein a hydrophobic compound is levitated on a bubble surface to the top of an aqueous column where they encounter a solvent layer to which the material is transferred as the bubbles move through the solvent layer. A model for the removal mechanism of the chlorinated compounds from aqueous solution was constructed. Removal rate constants for air stripping and for solvent sublation respectively are possible to calculate from the model's equations. The experiments were conducted on a laboratory batch scale using the 0.1m inner diameter bubble column. Bubbles were generated from the perforated plate. The chlorinated compound is dichrolomethane. The solvent layer is kerosine. Dichrolometane was removed at high efficiency by solvent sublation as compared with conventional air stripping, The removal rate constant from the model was compared with experimental result. The mass adsorbed on the bubble surface of 8 types of chlorinated compounds were assumed by the measurements of surface tension. The removal rate constants of these chlorinated compounds, for solvent sublation or for air stripping, are calculated from model equations using the linear adsorption constant. No potential conflict of recycling process of blast furnace slag was developed in order to obtain colorless silica-rich solids by using phase separation of borosilicate glass. B(2)O(3) was added to blast furnace slag to promote the phase separation. The slag glasses were heat-treated above glass transition temperatures. The slag glass prepared from blast furnace slag gelled after the heat treatment and the subsequent three types of acid treatment. The ratios of SiO(2) component in the gels were 40 - 60mass%. On the other hand, phase separation was observed on the surface of the slag glasses prepared from pre-treated slag by 2.5N HCI after the heat treatment. After soaking in acid, they did not gel and changed to insoluble colorless solids. According to compositional analyses, it was found that the insoluble colorless solids contained 70 - 90mass% SiO(2). No colored ions such as Cr, Mn, and Fe were confirmed in the remaining insolubles by optical absorption measurement. Therefore, the colorless silica-rich solids were successfully obtained in the present process. The end products obtained in the present process are expected as material of glass. No potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 710ENHideoHarasawaNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 36ENAkiraNodaNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 2ENSusumuYamamotoNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 1ENSusumuYamamotoNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 1116ENTomohiroNagamatsuKatsumiHanamotoToshiroOnoKiyonoriYamaokaIn this paper, we investigated how the excavation of ruins and the construction work affected the environmental radiation in the Shikata campus of Okayama University (S-campus). The environmental radiation was steady in the S-campus until 1997, but began to change since 1998, while the ruin's survey and the construction work started frequently after 1998 in the S-campus. In general, the soil and the concrete include the natural radioisotope (uranium series and thorium series, etc). When ruins are surveyed, it is necessary to move a large amount of the soil. In addition, a large amount of the concrete is used for the construction work. To measure the environmental radiation, the monitor posts were set up on the east and west sides of the building of the Radioisotope Center (RIC). We sampled the soil in the container in each place. We used the high-purity germanium detector to analyze them. The monitor posts showed the difference in the in-air dose rate in each place in the S-campus. The in-air dose rate at the east side of the RIC was higher than that at the west side. The result of analysis showed that the soil includes the (40)K at the east side. While the specific activity of the 40K was 0.849Bq/g at the east side, the (40)K was hardly detected in the soil at the west side. The each soil included the 214-lead and 214-bismus ((214)Pb, (214)Bi), however, there was no significant difference in the specific activity of the each soil. The concrete included (40)K, whose specific activity was 0.492Bq/g. It was suggested that the change of the environmental radiation was attributed to radon and its daughter nuclides in the soil rather than the radiation from the concrete in the buildings. No potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 710ENMasaakiNaitoNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 26ENTadaoSunamiNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 2833ENShinichiSakidaKoichiMasudaTokuroNanbaYoshinariMiuraThe preparation of SnO-SiO(2), SnO-B(2)O(3), and SnO-GeO(2) glasses by melting in air was performed. The prepared SnO-GeO(2) glasses were large enough to measure optical properties whereas the vitrification in SnO-SiO(2) and SnO-B(2)O(3) systems was difficult. PbO-GeO(2) and BiO(1.5)-GeO(2) glasses were also prepared for comparison with SnO-GeO(2) glasses. The densities, glass transition temperatures, and optical properties such as refractive indices, dispersion, and transmission spectra of SnO-GeO(2), PbO-GeO(2), and BiO(1.5)-GeO(2) glasses were measured. On the basis of the results, the potential for SnO-GeO(2) glasses as lead-free glasses is particularly discussed from the viewpoint of optical properties. No potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 1727ENKuranoshinKatoShoichiroIkedaKanaAbeRegional climate system in East Asia shows the characteristic seasonal cycle affected by the Asian monsoon with various types of its sub-systems. The seasonal cycle there is also related greatly to behaviors of the frontal zones which are the boundaries of these sub-systems. Since the variation of global-scale environment such as the global warming influences on each monsoon sub-system in rather different manner, it is necessary to understand the joint effects of these subsystems, in order to predict the regional climate change in East Asia in the global warming. In such research, it would be also useful to examine the features in the ice age, as an opposite extreme situation against the global warming. Thus the present paper will discuss some viewpoints in investigating the regional climate in the Last Glacial Maximum with attention to the seasonal cycle and daily meteorological systems. No potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported. 916ENToshimasaKatagiriNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported.岡山大学保健環境センター環境安全部門Acta Medica Okayama0917-1533282006暮らしと省エネルギー ~地球を守る私たちの責任~28ENNo potential conflict of interest relevant to this article was reported.
