kn-title=Ferrimagnetic structure in the high-pressure phase of ??Mn
en-subtitle=
kn-subtitle=
en-abstract=
kn-abstract=The ??Mn phase exhibits a large anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in its pressure-induced weak ferromagnetic (WFM) state, despite its relatively small spontaneous magnetization of ?0.02?B/Mn. To understand the underlying mechanism behind this AHE, we performed single crystal neutron diffraction measurements at 2.0 GPa to determine the magnetic structure of the WFM phase. Our investigation reveals a ferrimagnetic structure characterized by nearly collinear magnetic moments aligned along the [001] direction at sites I, II, III-1, and IV-1. In contrast, the small moments at sites III-2 and IV-2 lie within the (001) plane. The calculated net magnetization of this magnetic structure, (?0.08}0.10)??B/Mn atom, is in agreement with the experimentally determined spontaneous magnetization. The observation of a magnetic reflection at ?=(0,0,0) satisfies a key condition for the emergence of the AHE.

kn-title=Anomalous Hall effect triggered by pressure-induced magnetic phase transition in -Mn
en-subtitle=
kn-subtitle=
en-abstract=
kn-abstract=Recent interest in topological nature in condensed matter physics has revealed the essential role of Berry curvature in the anomalous Hall effect (AHE). However, since a large Hall response originating from Berry curvature has been reported in quite limited materials, the detailed mechanism remains unclear at present. Here, we report the discovery of a large AHE triggered by a pressure-induced magnetic phase transition in elemental -Mn. The AHE is absent in the noncollinear antiferromagnetic phase at ambient pressure, whereas a large AHE is observed in the weak ferromagnetic phase under high pressure despite the small magnetization of ?0.02B/Mn. Our results indicate that the emergence of the AHE in -Mn is governed by the symmetry of the underlying magnetic structure, providing a direct evidence of a switch between a zero and nonzero contribution of the Berry curvature across the phase boundary. -Mn can be an elemental and tunable platform to reveal the role of Berry curvature in AHE.

kn-title=Iron?platinum?arsenide superconductors Ca10(PtnAs8)(Fe2?xPtxAs2)5
en-subtitle=
kn-subtitle=
en-abstract=
kn-abstract=An overview of the crystal structures and physical properties of the recently discovered iron-platinum-arsenide superconductors, Ca-10(PtnAs8)(Fe2-xPtxAs2)(5) (n = 3 and 4), which have a superconducting transition temperature up to 38K, is provided. The crystal structure consists of superconducting Fe2As2 layers alternating with platinum-arsenic layers, PtnAs8. The upper critical field H-c2, hydrostatic pressure dependence of superconducting transition temperature T-c, and normal-state magnetic susceptibility are reported.
