In order to investigate the relationship between gastric acidity and various clinical and labolatory test findings in patients with cholecystopathy, the authors studied the case records of 113 such patients treated at this institute. The results obtained were as follows. 1) Concerning gastric acidity, 13,6%, of the 113 patients showed hyperacidity; 11,1%, normal acidity; 33, 0%, hypoacidity; and 42,3%, anacidity. 2) A higher percentage of cases showing low gastric acidity was found among those patients with a longer history of the disease. 3) Cases evencing lower level of gastric acidity tended to be characterized by a higher frequency of abnormal laboratory findings and clinical symptoms.
