幼児の園への適応とその支援に関する文献展望

　近年、入園などに伴う子どもの移行期が注目され、新しい環境への適応とその支援は、保育・教育現場の重要な課題となっている。幼稚園等は、幼児同士が初めて集団生活を経験する場としての役割を担い、園に適応し安定した生活を送ることは、その後の１人１人の発達の基盤となる。そこで本論では、幼児の園への適応支援の在り方を検討するために、まず、幼児期における適応の定義を明確化することを試みた。また、保育・教育領域における適応を捉える視点を整理した。次に、これらを踏まえ、幼児の園への適応支援における保育者の役割を中心に検討を加えた。さらに、現行の『幼稚園教育要領』等における適応に関する記述を確認した。その結果、幼児の園への適応の中核は「幼児の心理的な安定」と「幼児と環境との適切な関係構築」と捉えることができ、その支援に関わる保育者の役割が明示された。最後に、研究方法の課題等を整理し、今後の研究展望を示した。

　First, this study has attempted to clarify the definition of ‘readiness’ or ‘adjustment’ of pre-kindergarten age children to their first group life in society. This is considered to help evaluate various ways in which support is provided for them. Secondly, the paper describes the viewpoints that are currently applied to young children’s adjustment to pre-school education. Based upon the above, the study has proceeded to focus on the role of the kindergarten teacher in order to facilitate this process of adjustment. Furthermore, the salient points of “Course of study for Kindergarten,” etc. have been summarized. As a result, the foundation for the children’s adjustment to the kindergarten has been found to lie in their “psychological stability” and “the interaction between the children and the new environment.” Finally, the methodology used in the present study has been reviewed so that the direction of future studies may be shown.
