The purpose was to evaluate whether the unit seemed to improve their listening and their English competence, and to see if the students were interested enough by the shows that they would continue watching the programs on their own afterwards. Students were given questionnaires after the end of the unit, and they felt that the unit had improved their competence. 76% indicated that they intended to continue watching their show, revealing genuine interest. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=LamitieRobert en-aut-sei=Lamitie en-aut-mei=Robert kn-aut-name= kn-aut-sei= kn-aut-mei= aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学言語教育センター en-keyword=motivation kn-keyword=motivation en-keyword=input kn-keyword=input en-keyword=hooked kn-keyword=hooked en-keyword=recreation kn-keyword=recreation en-keyword=TV programs kn-keyword=TV programs END
