An alumina-zirconia (AZ) composite powder was prepared by thermal decomposition of the organic precursors, which were synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate aluminium diisopropylate and zirconium n-butoxide. Specific surface area of AZ was higher than that of alumina-zirconia (ALK) prepared from aluminium sec-butoxide and zirconium nbutoxide. True density of AZ was lower than that of ALK. Selective reduction of nitrogen oxide with propylene in oxygen-rich atmosphere on AZ was superior to that on ALK.
